Speaking as a conscientious and responsible casual fan of the Kansas City Royals, I can tell you that a win doesn't mean anywhere near as much to you as it does to a "real fan." I loved that KC won. But most of my emotion and energy extended to my friends who are lifelong die-hards. Those fans got an experience that I won't have until my Chiefs win the Super Bowl. I'll never know how that feels. I'm so happy for my Royal fans and I'm equally happy now for the Cubs fans out there. So awesome. But being a casual fan is remains hollow at the end of the day.

I'd call it more of a Classic B move. I had this strategy all lined up in 2001 but RM didn't exist yet.

I'm not a meth addict. I'm not obama. I'm not a white sox fan. Although as a kid I did watch a few games from the organ box while Nancy Faust played for the animals in attendance.

That was a really dumb move. I understand those types of aggressive decisions in some situations, but Chapman was already overworked at that point and they knew they were going to use him the next day. If he hadn't pitched in a while or had a day off before Game 7 it would have made sense, but it was just stupid.

So I still can't believe this happened. I've been a season ticket holder for 17 years, and I've sat through some long, cold, miserable games watching teams that could've been mistaken for high school teams. I've seen teams come out of nowhere and roll like they may not be stopped, only to come crashing down. I've also seen teams blow through the regular season and be favorites to win the WS, and again fall flat on their asses. But I've never seen a team like this. Even walking out of Wrigley after Game 5, there was a feeling like that there was no way they could be stopped, which is completely different how people felt walking out of Game 6 of the NLCS in 2003.

Frankly, I don't know what to feel or how to act right now; it still hasn't set in. All I know that the sports world in which I lived has forever changed. And I'm pretty happy about that. Go baseball. And go Cubs.
