We don't know that Luke hasn't gone renegade.
Maybe the reason he left was called s he felt the dark side calling him and he abandons Rey and his friends cos he feels it growing

I mean we see him at the end but he doesn't welcome or embrace her. He seems hesitant to accept the blade

I dont think it should be dissected too much. I think it was just a wonderful "come back next time to see what happens" scene. Luke, being one of the greatest jedi's ever, probably knows exactly what is going on and why she is there. She is obviously the daughter of Solo and im sure he feels it.

That final "stare" really does feel lik it goes on for five minutes, though.

One of the theories is that Rey and Ren are brother and sister and Ren hides her on jakku cos he knows the supreme leader is going to ask him to kill his family to prove his commitment to the dark side.

I dont think Luke was banging anybody though. Also:

Abrams: If they were still making X-Wings, If they were still making TIE Fighters, If they were still making Stormtroopers, what would they do? how would they evolve? There were endless conversations about these things. There have been hundreds if not thousands of movies where the design has been influenced by Star Wars and yet could not be Star Wars. They couldn’t do something as badass as a TIE Fighter, couldn’t do something as undeniable as a Stormtrooper, because you couldn’t rip off Star Wars. But when you are doing something that takes place within that world, to not incorporate those things felt borderline criminal.
