You know....the 2 songs we've heard i feel are very reminiscent of the production that was utilized on Peace, Love, and Death Metal form the first EODM.
I wonder if Homme's dealings with the Eagles over the past couple years with all that has happened brought some of that influence into the project.

I caved and listened to the leak.
Pretty bland and a waste of a damn good drummer. There are 3-4 promising tracks that will need repeat listens. Overall the Ronson production didn't colour it as much as I'd feared and went well with the TRex feel on some of the tracks. Just so bloody bland though.

I gotta say, I think I've come around on "The Way You Used to Do". I really like both of these songs now and am pretty excited to hear the full album.

There is a video of The Way You Used to Do on Apple Music.

What was there to come around on? That song is full-on butt-waggling groove from the start.

I just love that song so much. Sometimes I forgot about music tastes, like how I played the album while building legos with my son and basically made him listen to it.

Josh is going to be on Kesha's new album. Between that, the lady Gaga collabo and this Mark Ronson shitty production job on the new stuff, dude is heading into Scream era Cornell/Flaming Lips level sellout territory in record time.

Maybe he just, you know, likes Kesha and Lady Gaga

I like Lady Gaga.
I see no problem in trying new types of music at all. And I actually like Scream.

If the band wants to explore that sort of thing fine but they shouldn't expect us to care about their weird fetishes.

That's what The Desert Sessions was about, creating stuff outside of their main bands.

Deluxe LP arrived today. Won't be able to listen until tonight.
I've only heard the first single. Pretty stoked.

Did this ever actually leak in a palatable quality?

Thanks to internet sources being flooded with shitty quality leaks, I'll probably just end up buying this in some format. I really don't want to buy a CD I don't need, though. I don't have any use for them after ripping them.

Yeah, reading a review about the production makes it sound like the actual album is going to be a lot better. That can only be a good thing considering how weak the leak sounds.

This album sounds much better on headphones. Man, the drum sound is thin and unremarkable.
