I really like Halloween ‘17 and thought Kills was like 1/3 of a good sequel, which puts it about even with part 4. Generally I’m happy if a new Halloween movie is better than part 5.

I started watching VHS 85, I had some hope to begin with but was bored by the ridiculously overlong second segment and turned it off; nowhere nearly as good as 94
then I watched "The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster" and I loved it, a damn fine movie

Re: TVG Presents: All Things Horror.
The second segment definitely felt longer, which is odd given the actual circumstance of attempting to leave a building during a cataclysmic event while going deeper but the entire film is less than two hours so I suppose I didn't mind. Seeing as you got through the first segment I suggest at the least to watch the fourth.Ms Harmless wrote:I started watching VHS 85, I had some hope to begin with but was bored by the ridiculously overlong second segment and turned it off; nowhere nearly as good as 94
I just read the synopsis of 94 and I know I saw it but nothing seemed to stick with me.

X and Pearl were recently added to Kanopy. The uncut version of Infinity Pool is on there as well.

Just got out from The Exorcist Believer, really bad script. Laughable dialogues.

yeah, me too. I actually dont even remember Resurrection, i skipped it when i saw the whole franchise again these last couple of years.bart wrote:I’m a sucker for the movies and so far the only one that I truly can’t tolerate watching is Resurrection, so I’ll watch whatever shit they put out. Although I have to say, Ends really tested my tolerance.
I love pretty much all the movies, consider 5 as the weakest one and really love the Gordon Green trilogy and the Zombie movies too.

yeah, it shows how little work they actually had with this one, it was a quick money grab after the success of the Halloween Trilogy really, because not only the script is awful, but Gordon Green is on autopilot the whole movie.Hypnosomnia wrote:Just got out from The Exorcist Believer, really bad script. It seems the sequel is still happening but a mayor rewrite is already in the works. Also, i dont see GG coming back.

It really takes a lot for me to not be into a possession movie but boy did they make that happen with the new exorcist. No interest at all in seeing it since I saw the trailer before Talk To Me. They couldn’t even make something on the level of like The Possession (the one with Matisyahu and Jeffrey Dean Morgan), just a regular potboiler that keeps you reasonably entertained for 90 minutes

Watched Friday pt6 last night. Funny how they made such a great movie so late in the series and then immediately descended into making the worst one right after.

Started Usher. Episode one was surprisingly funny with an interesting set up. Episode two was stupid and crass. Got a bad feeling we are in for a shit ton of woke lecturing as well.

Considering the movie on Hulu about a sloth killing an entire sorority house, Slotherhouse.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I watched the first two and I’m liking Usher very much. It’s a classic Flanagan series so far and the cast it’s like a greatest hits from all his career plus Mark fucking Hammil.

Re: TVG Presents: All Things Horror.
We'll tackle 3 & 4 tonight, but the second episode was a turn-off. Explicit with being sexy (minus the one scene with Carla G), gory without being scary.VinylGuy wrote:I watched the first two and I’m liking Usher very much. highlights of the first two:
All the characters are scumbags, story wouldn't work if they didn't come off that way
Comedy bits are genuinely funny
Set pieces are top notch. Flanagan uses space really well
Interplay between Roderick and Auguste is a smart way to present an anthology series without losing the over-all plot like what happened with Midnight Club.
Rahul Kohli. He just crushes every scene
Kate Siegel's blue/gray hair.
low points:
not scary, barely even creepy
too much focus on sex/sexuality/etc.
Seem to be telegraphing Lenore is the hero, but I hope it's not that predictable (no spoilers please!)
