That's a noble goal to be sure. But it may be hard not to compare them given the expectations going into Season 2 based entirely on Season 1.
I don't think so. Not for me. I'm looking at this as it's own thing entirely. There can be no comparison.
Joey we should coordinate and watch this at the same time every week. It will be like we are watching it together.
:luv:

I would like that very much.

Early reviews are tepid. Still excited.

Because everyone wants Rust part II. Once they let go of that, reviews will shift.

On the Grantland Hollywood Prospectus podcast, they leaned heavily on the noir-ish aspects, which sounds real promising.

exactly, it'll either be good or bad. and it won't be hard not to compare since it's a completely different story and group of characters.

Gonna have to DVR this if the US Open is close. Both going up against each other in prime time.

I wasnt surprised with the three first chapters of season 1. I liked it but it wasnt an instant classic.

I can remember the exact moment when I thought, okay this thing is something. During the first season. It was the last line of the first episode. "Then start asking the right fucking questions." Music. Credits.

Went immediately to the second episode.

I saw the first season on tv. So it was a slow bulding for me..after chapter 4 i was convinced it was a classic.

Have you read Galveston Joey?

there's no way this season can have another tracking shot moment like the end of episode 4, can it?

Probably not. But not because that first one was the greatest thing that ever happened. But because people would feel like it was a cheap trick, recycling something they loved from last time.

I think his short stories (in Between Here and the Yellow Sea) were better, but Galveston is worth a few afternoons.
