Jesus I wish I was at that show. That is an amazing setlist

I've only been a fan of the band in recent years and seeing them live since 2007, which is arguably when "party PJ" kicked in live and every show became 30+ songs and 3 hours. Whilst I've had some amazing times at those shows, I'd happily swap some of them for a streamlined set like that. Particularly in 2000 when they were tighter than a mouse's waistcoat.

A monster show.

How's that show sound quality wise? I see an audience flac out there.

I find it really difficult to give a meaningful rating to audience recordings. Many times I've been seriously disappointed in the quality of recordings that were commonly rated as being A or 9/10 captures but then been pleasantly blown away by recordings not thought of so highly. In particular I think I'm drawn to recordings with a fair amount of definition in the guitars. In my experience it's really common to find highly-touted 'excellent' recordings where the drums and vocals are relatively crisp but the guitars are just an indistinguishable wash of frequencies.

This is a long-winded way of saying that the NYC show mentioned above is, from my perspective, very listenable but YMMV.

I haven't listened to an audience recording boot in so many fucking years i dont even remember.


Wait, that probably isn't accurate. I haven't listened to a pearl jam show via an audience recording since the 2002 tour I believe. Some of my favorite boots are audience recordings though. Most are pre 2000 (obviously).

If you can tolerate audience tapes at all, the Paramount show shouldn't faze you -- it's very listenable. There are some truly remarkable audience tapes out there (St. Petersburg '94, the "other" Melbourne '98 shows) -- this isn't on the level of those, but I'd say it's above average for this era of audience recording, unless there's just something about the overall capture that happens to bug you.

That LA show is great but man, Leeds is ridiculous. So, so, so good.

I listened to the main set of Portland 2013 today. Great stuff. It's weird to think they were so bad for the week before the Portland show, then pulled it all together and nailed that show (well, for the most part). I'm glad I was there for it.

Saratoga Springs, 8/27/2000.

This is a really good show. I haven't heard all 72 boots from this tour, but of the ones I have, I think this is up there. Even not knowing all 72, I'd think this show is a top 10. The fellas are on fire!

That and Pittsburgh are my favorite shows from that tour.

This show is firmly planted in my iPhone for an always accessible listen.

Worchester 1. One the best Just Breathes followed by my favorite Spin the Black Circle, which has never been one of my top songs otherwise, and a good Unthought Known.

Sonic Evolution. That was a refreshing change from the ordinary.

I just love how they sounded in 94. Listened to the Ann Arbor boot and the Miami boot this week. Awesome stuff. Pretty sure that Ann Arbor show is the first time they ever played Nothingman.

Ann Arbor is a great show -- maybe the all-time best "Breath."

Kansas City 10/12/00. This one is really underrated. No nonsense performance.
