disco dan needs to go. he is being thoroughly outcoached by claude in every aspect. he does not make players accountable for their play unless you are fluery. at this point they have to either trade of buy out fluery. the defense has always (despite this current series) played better for vokoun than they have marc-andre

sure the fancy passes look great when they work but against a team like boston that stays in their lanes and plays the man when they should those lead to turnovers. when those turnovers are deep in the offensive zone they are breaking out much quicker than the pens can recover. and lets not discuss the turnovers in the defensive zone.

having jerome 3rd line, unless youre double shifting him just shows how terrible the coaching has been. if you want to shake things up fine, do it with playing pig face and sitting morrow, or something else. you dont take a guy whos scored 500+ goals and play him on his off wing.

I would love to say boston is just lucky and that the pens peaked but thats simply not the case. boston is just playing better as a team. you can get all the talent in the world but if you dont put that talent in the right positions at the right times it will all be for naught.

the big question is who do you trade, letang or malkin cause you cant sign them both. side note. letangs camp was floating out 7mil a year. ironic that going into last nights game letang was a -7

the scary thing is is that if Vancouver was dumb enough to give Alex Edler 6 million a year, some other team will do 7 for Letang (and I won't even bring up the insane contract the turtling tampon Christian Ehrhoff got)

If I have a team I guess it's the Pens, since my Dad brought me a puck from them years ago.

If anything is obvious about that series for a layman hockey fan like myself, it's that the Pens simply aren't a tough enough hockey team.

They have been bullied and blugeoned into being down 3-0. They look soft and they aren't taking enough quality shots.

I don't really know anything about the ins and outs of hockey having never played, but that's the way it looks to me.

How can you have Malkin and Crosby and not find a way to get one of them to score in 5 periods?

if anything, Pittsburgh has been the much more physical team. They probably are not a tough enough hockey team mentally (look at Fleury, then the frustration that built up in game 1 when they couldn't score), but they're taking it to the Bruins physically more often than not, sometimes to their own detriment. They've had numerous quality shots but Rask has stonewalled them. And when Rask has given up rebounds, the Bruins defenders have been good at clearing them out (Chara saved a goal last night at one point), or the puck always seems to bounce over Pittsburgh's sticks (that's something that's stood out, how often a Pittsburgh player seems to have a clean look at a loose puck but it bounces over their sticks or doesn't settle down at all).

Pittsburgh's biggest problem is that they are a bunch of front runners...when things are going good, they're fine. But when they run into a team like Boston (or like Philly last year) who is clearly not afraid of them, they tend to get really frustrated really quickly and get completely taken out of their game. And they miss what Jordan Staal brought to them big time.

I'm amazed that Boston has been so dominant the last two rounds when the Leafs were ten minutes away from ending their season in the first round. I hate it when Boston teams win, but at least I can take comfort in the fact that the Leafs are the only team so far that has put up any kind of challenge.

Gregory Campbell has set himself up for folk-hero status if the Bruins keep winning. They're going to miss him terribly on the PK.

I dunno, I mean they have a lot of other effective penalty killers (Paille, Bergeron, Marchand, Kelly, Peverley, Krejci if necessary)...he'll be missed, but their depth will help them greatly

I think this series is all about Rask. I said at the beginning that if Rask stood on his head, the B's would have a chance....and he's standing on his head, all right.

Statistically, and I heard this over the radio so take it for what it's worth, Rask is having a better playoff run than Thomas did during the Stanley Cup win. Amazing.

That wouldn't be all that surprising...Thomas was great but he had some struggles in the first and third rounds...it was the finals that Thomas just absolutely stole
