different kind of joy. can be a little more soul sucking. also, joy-hate is usually less rational than joy-love.
I totally disagree. I think joy-hate is generally more technical and well thought out, whereas joy-love can be "It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside!" nonsense.
They both boil down to the same taste reaction. Joy-haters think up reasons to justify their hate, but the justifications are masks for the essential truth of "it makes me angry inside!" Justification doesn't make a belief more rational in itself. The process of justification often requires picking a side in a debate, which usually makes an opinion less "true," especially on the anti- side. If you like something and other people don't, you can admit the flaws (or what they see as the flaws) exist. But if you hate something, you often do all you can to discredit the good, turning off your ability to recognize the good in something you hate and therefore removing any degree of even-handedness. At least that's the message board tendency.

Kagemusha-Loved it, when on a little long but typically excellent Kurosawa.

Chicken with Plums-sort of tried too hard but had some nice moments. Different from what I was expecting.

Nolan is in loose talks to direct next Bond film.
Gee, if it's anything like that snow-mountain sequence in Inception....

"Lost Highway" today and "Django Unchained" yesterday. 7.5/10 and 9/10, respectively.

Warm Bodies...I really liked the take on the zombies. Kept my attention for an hour and thirty minutes, so that's good.

I'm kind of hoping you don't know what "respectively" means.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Basically lived up to all the hype for me.

I'm pretty sure I do; Lost Highway just didn't grab me, man. Not the way Lynch's other movies have.

Ruby Sparks...I thought it would be a dud, but was actually a neat little movie.

The Hobbit. I liked it, except for the goblin cave escape thing and the stupid eagles again.

Gollum is absolute movie magic. His scenes still blow me away.

I absolutely adored Ruby Sparks. So much heart and imagination. Great performances. It's clunky at times. Not without a few flaws, but those just made me appreciate the effort even more. Glad you enjoyed it.

Watched Jeff, Who Lives At Home and Tiny Furniture last night. Enjoyed both well enough. Each had one phenomenal scene that just crushed me. Overall, I'd say they were good, not great. I wanted both to be better, but I'm glad I finally saw them. Some really nice performances in each.
