The two gigs I saw at the Barn are two of my favorite concerts ever attended.
As far as the Band goes, their tribute album gets a fair amount of listens which speaks well toward the original music itself.

Agree 100% Eclipses the original but it wouldn't be here without it. That being said I also quite enjoy MMJ's take on Rocket Man.

No, it was some lesser-known artist. I think either strat, durdencommatyler, or theplatypus posted it.

so we were talking about songs that had a "desolate" feel to them, or something like that. I like to refer to it as "desert rock", like Mazzy Star, etc. My search has thus far turned up nothing though. Ugh.

I don't know what you're talking about. I'd be surprised if I posted it, though.

Made me think of this song, doubt it was the video though. It's a great clip, really well done.

It's been ages since I've listened to Liz Phair. God, I love her.

Great doc, and a great tribute album. I love the Widespread Panic's version of Chest Fever.

Listening to my iPod on shuffle and "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself" by The White Stripes came on. Haven't heard the song in probably years. Man, I forgot how killer TWS were in their prime. That "I need your SWEET. LOVE." moment is fucking great.
