Just finished first listen, but I was messing about a bit, not 100% focused. Having said that, wow. Sounds great, love the grooves. This seems excellent.

Must say that his use of words still continues to amaze and excite me, all these years and albums later. So good.

Finally getting around to the Dylan standards albums. I've heard Shadows and Fallen Angels so far. They aren't for me but it certainly was an interesting diversion for him.

Rough and Rowdy Ways benefitted vocally from this departure though.

Desire is a great album and definitely in my top 5. I think you were a bit of a cunt.

It's not like he said Down In The Groove or Saved or Modern Times even.

I think a ways out from hearing it that the use of the violin as a through line for that album is really cool, but I wouldn’t even have it close to the top. I would place the first three of “rock” albums in the 60s, the late 90s/early 00s albums, probably a couple of the country rock albums from the 70s ahead, not to mention the folk albums in the 60s. I kind of consider it - if this makes sense - the worst of the best, meaning of his great albums it might be last or close to last, but way ahead of anything that didn’t do it for me.

Desire and BotT are albums I grew up with. I know pretty much every note and word and have done since I could talk/sing.

OK, so Bob Dylan sells the rights to his entire back catalog to someone for $300M. Baller move.

Help me understand how the buyer plans to make that back and eventually turn a profit. I don't get it. Are there hundreds of movies currently in production that are gonna be using snippets of Dylan songs or what?

The "buyer" is Universal, who (besides carelessly destroying master tapes), pretty much own the movie and music industry.

I figure they'll find a way.
