Top seed that fell apart at the end of the season. That team had Paul fucking George and not LeBron James, I wouldn't panic too much until we see how they look in their first round series.

Cleveland still has to be the favorite in the East, but I don't think anybody should be surprised if they get beat pre-Finals. If they do make it to the Finals they're going to get demolished.

Do you think they have a case of championship-itis, are coasting until the playoffs, suffering fatigue from two deep playoff runs, their bench depth, or some combination that is causing this nadir?

No, the Cavs are clearly not as good as last year. I hope they find that magic button and can summon championship level defense when they need, but I am very skeptical that they'll be able to do that.

I think there was a bit of complacency, but fatigue has to be a factor as well. With all the injuries, they haven't really had a chance to gel and a guy like Tristan Thompson has really had to play more with how few big guys they have.

They just look so lazy a lot of times. Bad turnovers, bad defense and not enough ball movement. One would hope they can turn it on for the playoffs, but I'm skeptical at this point. They weren't exactly playing great to end last season either so...

I'd still consider them the favorites in the East, but not by much. I'd put Toronto as the best chance to win it if Cleveland doesn't.
