I agree. Seems like they're all in a great place based on everything we've heard about these sessions and their body language on the last few tours.

Arthur Morgan wrote:I will say this too. I got a little emotional listening to this about the 4-5 time. If you are a fan of this band, which all of you are, many from the beginning, you root for them. And I found myself saying “after all this time, they f-in did it!” I have loved all of their records but I would be lying if I didn’t say Binuaral thru Gig was a mixed bag. Still know every song and love those albums but this is different. There is an energy and freshness that has been missing. Like I said before there are individual songs on those earlier albums that may be better but there is something about the way these songs are played, the song structures, the band dynamics, Ed’s lyrical choices and they way he is singing that feels right in a way that is hard to explain.
Agreed.

If they do, he needs to lean them harder into the direction of WFS and steer them away from emulating Bruce, Pete and Tom.
Enough of that, really.

Also, we need new drum driven songs like WMA and In My Tree with crazy tribal patterns.
Or I need them. Which is reason enough I’m sure!
yes to the bolded, other than that I'd just say: no to more spouse / parent songs, no to more Ramones punk

I still haven't heard it. I'm hoping I get lucky with a delivery to my mailbox in the next day or two...otherwise I'll wait till Friday. I'm so thrilled to hear that so many of you are loving it though.

Is yours on vinyl?

After about 1.5 listens of the cell phone leak, I think I can say that Gigaton is better. Though that could change with the actual album and more listens.

I ordered one vinyl and one CD - both via 10C.

I am excited for those who have not heard it to hear it.
Are there going to by lyrics at this thing? I thought it was just the album and then the album with a bunch of visuals on screen.

I understand the lyrics will be up on one of the play backs. Could be wrong.

I’m thinking about a turntable, but from I was given to understand, the hassle free ones that work via wireless protocols aren’t worth buying because of the inferior sound quality as opposed to ones that require dedicated amps, passive speaker sets, you know, the works. Is that true? Because if it is I better forget it. I can’t have audio cables slithering all over the place, that would drive me nuts.

The funny thing is the vinyl I ordered is for my brother. I actually don't have a turntable. Sorry I can't be more helpful. :)

I'd like to get into vinyl at some point though. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm guessing this is where I will land, but I haven't heard DM yet so it's all speculative at this point.

It’s an expensive hobby but it’s fun, especially with tracking down variants, and the sound quality is better.

My general take on it is its probably like most things - you get what you pay for.

Is this a recurring phenomenon in RM polling history, or is their actually something special going on?
I listened once to the iPhone and thought there is nothing totally shit on here but nothing totally awesome either, a lot of just half good songs which is what I'll take after the last shit show.
iPhone recording took me 2-3 close listens to pull everything out and place it back in my brain

i havent had a single ‘real’ listen yet. but comparing the iphone listens (maybe 4) with the clips i was finding that the mid temp songs werent lodging in my brain on the iphone and so the 30 second clips keep feeling new. those songs (got to give, wont tell, upper hand, stevie) are the ones I guess I really need an actual album to process

The Pitt just confirmed lyrics will be on screen!
