Pearl Jam had a peak of getting things to us a day or two ahead of release date, and that rocked, but they've long since switched to this system of making us pay a bunch of extra money to UPS for a super shitty delivery system that is apparently more environmentally friendly. I think there's a dude leaving Seattle on foot Friday morning with an old paperboy sack full of Dark Matters to deliver across the US. You'll get your vinyl in 2025, but the carbon footprint is nearly zero!

Listening to the cellphone leak last night, Upper Hand really hit me good. I was picturing them opening a show with it, with the epic intro and Ed walking on, and the crowd singing along. The song is going to be a classic. A modern Yellow Ledbetter.

I got Gigaton in the mail 5 days before release and I'm in Massachusetts. It seems to be a crapshoot.

Is yours on vinyl?
I ordered one vinyl and one CD - both via 10C.
I’m thinking about a turntable, but from I was given to understand, the hassle free ones that work via wireless protocols aren’t worth buying because of the inferior sound quality as opposed to ones that require dedicated amps, passive speaker sets, you know, the works. Is that true? Because if it is I better forget it. I can’t have audio cables slithering all over the place, that would drive me nuts.
I bought a turntable a couple of years ago....just a mid level Fluance turntable with a separate pre amp, receiver, speakers. My assumption is that you are correct that going wireless and "hassle free" probably negates any sort of "sound advantages". Though for me occasionally going vinyl is as much about the experience, and sort of forcing myself to go back to listening to albums rather than playlists.

I am excited for those who have not heard it to hear it.
Are there going to by lyrics at this thing? I thought it was just the album and then the album with a bunch of visuals on screen.
The Pitt just confirmed lyrics will be on screen!
eh really
can we request they be turned off

At this point I don’t think we can turn the Pitt off, sorry

At the end of the day, I'll be going to the movies tonight by myself to have a listen.

You mean like carbon footprint by making 12 different versions of the exact same thing?

I think it’s only for the second playthrough…for the first playthrough you get to stare at the back of a dozen sweaty balding heads uninterrupted.

Same.
Going by myself 9:15 this evening once the kids are in bed

Looking forward to hearing this on a big sound system

Hopefully the crying baby will be there during the Segway from WFS into Running
I'm really going to miss that part - it went so well with the beautiful music

Hahaha, it's wild that I really am going to give this phone bootleg a listen in a few days after I've actually heard the real thing, just for this baby.
