My guess is a game that didn't go enough innings and was completely replayed.

The average career (in years) in the NFL is much shorter than in MLB, so a lot of these football guys die, too, in their 20's and 30's but they are so far out of the public eye at that point, noone notices.

And the NBA has way less players so that is just a numbers game.

Bobby Phills was a pretty high profile NBA traffic death. Maybe he played minor league baseball at some point?
