More importantly, it's not clear to what extent it would hold up, especially if the opposition controls the Senate AND SCOTUS.
This is why I originally asked the question. FDR even issued an executive order that attempted to essentially establish a 100% marginal tax rate by establishing a salary/wage cap of $25,000.
Yeah I mean, it's not a crazy idea outside of present context but, leaving aside the question of whether Biden would even do this, can you imagine Mitch or the new SCOTUS power-trio letting it stand?

And I mean, sorry Trag, but if you think Biden is going to somehow buck a decades-long trend and pick up seats during his first midterm election....

Is it crazier to believe that the dead vote swung the election than Biden being able to procure enough swing votes in the senate for any given measure ?

I'm not sure what Mitch could do because Biden would have the House on his side, but yeah the Supreme Court would (rightly) stop anything like that from going into effect before the ink dried.

Oh no the dead voter thing is definitely crazier, I was referring only to adult ideas. Sure, I think you grab Romney here or there, maybe Collins. But not on taxes. No fucking way.

I meant that these gambits are usually an attempt to force the Senate's hand, make them take action, and I think Biden loses that stare-down.

Gotcha. Yeah I don't think McConnell is physically capable of blinking at this point, just licks his eyeballs to provide the moisture. So he has a pretty big competitive advantage in any stare-down scenario.

Yawn.
macphisto, is it
possible or is it
impossible that Biden could legitimately win this election?

Absolutely possible. I didn't like Cheeto's chances at all going into the election, but now everything has changed.

Can you elaborate on what has changed? Fwiw, I agree that he has a better chance right now than I thought he'd have. But the math seems to favor Biden pretty clearly, doesn't it?

Indications of fraud, which are immediately written off as right wing conspiracy nutjobbery.

Pretty much every Trump supporter is going to call this election a travesty. Trump said it a few months ago, and he is responsible for the fucking election. Is astonishing that the current administration is the one saying this sort of stuff. Now he is saying to stop the count again. Jeeeesus.
