Are we really that far away from "Whammy Innings" where pitchers can only throw fastballs? They should just end it in a tie game after the 10th if they're so worried about travel fatigue and everyone trying to hit a home run. The Yahoo Sports article said this could lead to more bunting and strategy. Please, 1 or 2 guys in an AL lineup are even capable of bunting.

I cant even put into words how against MLB becoming the NFL and fucking around with the rules every offseason I am.

I don't watch much baseball, but do they even enforce the current rules concerning the speed of the game?

A little bit more than the past, but I dont even think there should be rules concerning the speed of the game. The best thing about baseball is how the game resolves of itself, there is no clock, the game ends when the game is over.

That said, getting the calls right should take a lot less time than it does now. All they need is a video umpire at each game and no damned conference.

If it were up to me there would be no replay other than for HR/no HR.

Killing the DH might speed up the game too.

I would like for the league to enforce the stepping out of the box only once per at bat. As a casual viewer frequent step outs to "readjust" after a watched ball seem completely unnecessary.

I sure hope not, I barely even watch the NFL anymore. Baseball is 3 outs, 3 strikes, 4 balls, 9 innings, 90 feet, 60 feet 6 inches, 90 degrees of fair territory...

you really wanna speed the game up, put the bullpens under the stands, you want a new pitcher, call time and send him in. No mound visit, no relief pitchers slow jog in from the outfield, no going over whos coming up with the catcher (the pitching coach can tell him that as he leaves the dug out)

I wouldnt touch anything else. No time clocks, no player substitution limits per inning, none of the other ideas floating around out there.

I know its not popular with a lot of American fans, but I cant wait for the WBC games to start up.
LOVED Watching games in Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Dominican, and Puerto Rico during the last ones.

I get the fear of injuries for the big money American players, but they could get just as injured in a spring training game, or hell, getting hurting ripping a phone book in half in the club house during spring training (heres looking at you Steve Sparks)

Ichiro may never win a World Series, but he won two WBC's, thats two more championships than a lot of players have. (Really wish he was playing in one more)

I don't care about the WBC results at all but I'll watch games because I baseball.
