They had a brief convo in Episode 2 this season, I believe Sansa asked, "What about the North?" and Dany said nothing, then Theon Nodick came to break up their party. I read Dany's silence as an unwillingness to negotiate, which--as I said--is odd considering she was willing to bend for Yara. I do think it could be read other ways, though.

I would tend to agree, but again, I think Dany's reaction is in direct response to Sansa's clear aggression and distrust. Had the two of them agreed to sit down and have a diplomatic conversation, things might have been different. Part of the reason Yara gets what she gets is her support of Dany as queen.

She doesn’t want to be taken advantage of? I honestly can’t tell. There’s a log history of the best times for the realm being preceded by good relations between the Starks and Targaryens and why that cant continue is beyond me.

He's a cousin that grew as close as a sibling. That's about as family as it gets where I come form.

Her father, mother, brother, grandfather, uncle, and her fucking dog (and for the longest time she believed, her aunt) were all murdered when they went south. When she went south, she was passed around to different men as if she were property, leading to unspeakable torture and abuse. Now a queen comes from the south and is like, "I love your brother! Let's be friends." Defeating the army of the dead was important, but can we blame her for not wanting to align herself with anyone who's not a Stark?

I have no problem with her reticence. But her refusal to listen to Jon and her blatant betrayal of his trust is absolutely worthy of our scorn and criticism.

To me, it feels like writer's forcing an outcome rather than listening to their characters. But, again, we have to see how it all plays out. I could be wrong. Maybe there's a point to all of it. Maybe it'll end up being super cool and/or profound. But right now it just feels ... off.
