To me, it feels like writer's forcing an outcome rather than listening to their characters. But, again, we have to see how it all plays out. I could be wrong. Maybe there's a point to all of it. Maybe it'll end up being super cool and/or profound. But right now it just feels ... off.

I see where you're coming from. I had a big problem with the manufactured Sansa/Arya tension from last season (which ended up being completely a ruse), and I thought it made total sense for them to cast aside the differences they had as children to embrace what they shared, which was a desire to continue their family's legacy. Jon is a member of their family, for sure--whether he's a half brother or a cousin--but the decisions he's made (to bend the knee to Dany, to enter a relationship with Dany, to overrule Sansa's decisions as Lady of Winterfell) are things he's decided as an adult, and she sees the sum of them as a betrayal of the family. She may be wrong--characters are allowed to be stupid and wrong and can still be good characters--but I think it does make narrative sense.

Yeah, that's fair. And it's not like men haven't let Sansa down time and time again. I wasn't looking at it that way, clearly. I was looking at it from the Stark's whole "blood is thick" kinda thing. Knowing what each of them has done and experienced. Especially given the words said to Jon before his confession. But you're right. There is a way to see it from her perspective that makes sense. Good call.

Also, let's talk about Jamie. What do we think is up with his exit? D&D seemed to indicate in the post-Thrones thing that it was genuine, that he really was running back to Cersei and that feels false to me. What do you guys think?

He'll probably make it so far as Riverrun and someone will come up to him and tell him Brienne of Tarth is just around that corner and needs to see him.

Feels like he realized he’s hateful and Cersei is the source. To me it looked like he was running back to her, but this cane after hearing the news of the dragonstone ambush. To me, he remembered that Cersei risked the lives of the realm to try and win the war after while he honored his word to fight for the living and feels like he may be the only one to stop her from becoming the monster he told people she wouldn’t be when she built a better world.

Also he needs to go back to be the Valonqar.

Wondering about the language Varys and Tyrion were using. Talking of marrying jon and Dany. Then Amounting to treason.
They’ve made a complete fuck up every time they have advised Dany and she’s listened.
Lately though they seem unable to control her or her ‘worst impulses’.
We leave them with them both having opposite opinions and motivations.
Are they both in for a rude awakening?

I had previously though that both sides would run into each other halfway between kings landing and winterfell and for a second watching it it looked like it.
But this is just kind of a weird oversight / screw up.

We all know and heard it said they can’t attack the city itself so they need a battlefield. I don’t mind the convenience of one appearing but they could have st least tried to match up the topography
