I couldn't even make it to point 3 because this person so thoroughly misunderstands JJ & TFA that it's painful.

I dont think he's wrong about JJ and the things he says about JJ are actually what I love most about his films and shows. This entire "mystery box" thing of his is a cornerstone of his filmmaking. I do believe they are essential (mostly) to his stories and developing characters, but they are, in a sense, the same as M Night Shyalmalingdongs use of major twists in his movies. Its what he does.

I think the 1 - 2 punch of JJ and Rian have amplified my favorite aspects of both of their story telling styles. Great team of sorts.

All I know is that The Last Jedi is fucking great.

Upon third viewing I realized I may have overreacted. The previews for Jumanji were actual really great

I can’t wait to see that

Also, LV, that wall is pretty much on fire. I don't know what you're pissed about.

But I totally understand why a second viewing for Ruddo made the movie worse in his estimation. That makes a lot of sense to me.

Personally though, a second viewing solidified everything. This is a fun, bold, complex, and excellent space opera story.
