A boycott I can 100% appreciate. It’s at least an attempt at correction. But a lot of this argument just doesn’t seem like it’s being made in favor of that or any action.

Is it fair to compare the “beep bop” or whatever she said to what the world’s premier anti-racist says here?

2. Even in this tightly cut clip, it’s clear that Kendi isn’t discussing transgenderism at all. He describes an incident where his daughter....a child...comes home with a learned negative attitude towards one aspect of her self-identity. And he uses that story as a reference point for a similar struggle that children who face racism experience.

3. Near as I can see, the only accounts/blogs pushing the idea that this is anti-trans language are the same people who insist that the “language of inclusion” police are overrunning America. So that’s pretty funny.

4. I guess, though, just to be fair, Disney should fire him too.

It’s great you are able to read his mind, know his child intentions, and know what context occurred before and after the video, but if anyone else had said the following the world would end for them:

“... even talking about gender... I think it was last week my daughter came home and said she wanted to be a boy. You know, which was horrifying for my wife to hear — myself to hear. ”

But what you are saying leads to the point: when do we give someone the benefit of the doubt in what they are saying when it’s controversial or borderline hateful?

A decent heuristic would be that you give noted scholars a greater "benefit of the doubt" than you might some dipshit actor who probably has CTE making pronoun jokes.

the victim of decaying grey matter in the skull

brought on by several punches to the head

brought on by a decision to pursue a career where you get punched in the head

brought on by a panoply of psychological factors all traceable to societal pressure to adhere to conventional female gender roles

which as a female MMA fighter she chose not to

and thus the real villain are progressive elites failing to acknowledge her raging anti-genderism through her atypical career choice

I didn't realize this lady was a boxer.

I was suggesting that MMA fighters have a different risk profile than NFL players or boxers, those jobs being more closely associated with CTE.

Sometimes they also get their bells rung, but the frequency and likelihood are probably different.
