Anyone own the CCR Singles Collection? It was like 15 7" all in Mono. Curious as to how it sounds?

It's got a phono button? I have a very old wave radio and when I first got a deck in high school, I tired running it though the bose to no avail.

Breaking in a new cart since the weekend... Denon DL-110 which is a modestly priced high-output MC cart. I've been using an Ortofon 2M Red and while I had no complaints, I just wanted a bit of an upgrade. This is my first experience with a moving coil cart and I have to say I now understand why so many audiophiles go this route. The differences really lie in the detail that is picked up by the diamond shaped stylus that tracks extremely well on even lesser-quality records.

These retail for around $130 but I was able to find it for $85 which so far seems like a worthwhile upgrade.




p.s. Frequency range on the 2M Red is 20-22,000Hz, whereas the range on the Denon 110 is 20-45,000Hz. This must be the difference in detail that I'm hearing.

I was worried about getting the Nick Cave + BS live LP that came out on Black Friday, especially after I went to one record store in Massachusetts that said they didn't receive any copies. I went to a place in Rhode Island yesterday and they had like 6 of them

Speed at which the record revolves at - 45's tend to have better sound - 33's are more common
