I definitely don't wanna know anything about their relationship and break-up.

The first 2-3 seconds of “jams runs free” sounds exactly like smashing pumpkins “1979”

The last 1-2 seconds of PJ's Down sounds like when Kim sings "little trouble girl".

Been listening to Dirty lately and reading the wiki on the recording of it. Had no idea Ian Mackaye played on Youth Against Fascism.

Which lines are his? That screechy, swirly thing going on all over the verses?

Still listening to Dirty. I think I finally put my finger on why it's one of my least favorite SY albums. It's Thurston.
His songs on here are as poppy and slick as it gets for this band. Meanwhile, Kim found a really good groove with her songs. I think if Dirty was just Kim's songs and maybe wish fulfillment, genetic, and nic fit, SY's 90's discography would have had something that complimented Washing Machine's haze and grime. Instead, we get Thurston concentrating haaard on playing frontman for a band who was never going to make it earlier than 10pm on MTV but who signed a contract promising a load of "maybes".

I always forget about that one. I like the sound on it but my only big gripe with it has no Lee songs and no clear centerpiece or long jams. It's missing a big part of what I love about SY.

I was reading your Dirty thoughts ( ey cool title for a Moore book!) and i dont really listen the album in the same way.
It might have to do with that one being my first SY album maybe? and watching the 100% video, then diving into them playing with Ian, the booklet, specially what the band was doing in that era...i just love it.
I agree that musically its not up there with their best work, but i would still put it in a top 10 for sure.

Blew my mind when I realized "stupid mop" might have been a SY reference on Vitalogy.
