Race on Sunday. First half marathon in a few weeks. Feeling good about both.
Good luck on your race, DCT. If it would help, I could chase you with a bigass snake.
You're a good man, t2b. One of my favorites.
:heartbeat:

And by "bigass snake", I meant a large snake, not a snake with a really big ass.

Either way, I'll run the fuck away.

10 miles in 75 minutes

Pretty nasty hangover this morning. Hit the canal early to avoid the heat. Felt slow but solid. Lots of people smiling and exercising. Really just cruised the entire way and fell into a nice groove. Even split with no finishing kick. I could taste the alcohol in my sweat. Nice, mellow run.

I've reached zen like states while working construction with a hangover/still drunk or doing some trail riding. It's a place between lucid and spaced out. It works.

It is fascinating, no doubt.

I've done two races while hungover and did really well in both of them. I went out conservatively in both and had energy to burn at the end. I drank pretty much nonstop in those races because I was worried about being dehydrated from the alcohol.

I was a little worried this morning because I drank Jack and Cokes all night and my hard liquor hangovers are the worst.

10 miles in 78 minutes

Couldn't sleep, so I went for a run at 3 a.m. 3 miles in and I started to regret it. To my surprise, I hit the turnaround in 35. Started to run out of steam on the way back and decided to work on my ultra-shuffle. 43 back. Not the world's greatest run, but it was better than tossing and turning in bed.

I come from a long line of insomniacs. My mom has been sleeping 3 or 4 hours a night for the last 50 years. All my brothers don't sleep well.

The more I train, the worse it gets generally. I'm sure the fact that my body is constantly healing itself and I have a high metabolism doesn't help matters. I'm also Pure OCD, which means I basically can't stop thinking about stupid shit.

It wasnt so much that I decided to... well ok I did.

The reasons I didnt stick around in the past probably had a lot to do with drug abuse/addiction. Its hard to get anything done whilst living that life.

*edit* I should add that Ive been mostly clean since April 08. Also I wanted to add that Im also here because PJ has been one of the few constants Ive had in my life. 21 years.

And there is no way Im going to spend time on The Pit. :P

Nah. When I'm not blowing snot all over teenagers and punching fellow concertgoers in the back of the head, I'm actually pretty mellow.

Congrats on being sober!! Thats awesome. My brother in law got out of rehab last sunday (28 days at Hazelden), had a drink monday and my sister was woken up on friday at 5 am by the cops with her husband! Was out walking around barefoot and drunk. Back to rehab he goes...

I just read "Its so Easy, and other lies" By Duff McKagan.

Intense.
