I think it will be rescue, not kill. Somehow he will learn that "blue sky" is back on the market, maybe Lydia gets arrested her corporation's ties are revealed, and Walt realizes the Aryans must be keeping Jesse alive to cook. Having forever lost his real son, he goes to save his surrogate one.

Why rescue? He gave the nod to put Jesse down in the desert, I figure there's no love left there
We were on partial lockdown today, so I didn't get to much of a chance to reflect on it, but...

I may retract this after tomorrow night's second viewing, and I don't watch the episodes previews, but it depends on how you view the final scenes. The phone conversation with Skylar was a multitude of things; rage at her betrayal in telling Walt Jr, anger for cutting him, a metaphor for his long standing issues with their marriage and his own failings, but it was also the last thing he could do for his family to make them hate him, blame him, end their ties, and try and give her a way out of jail. I would not be surprised if it was the last time they speak. I think hearing Holly speak was the equivalent of when he smelled Skylar's face cream in the first season, a reminder of what was good in his world.

His escape was as much removing himself as the contaminant, the "fly", in their world as running away with his loot. But he is free. He got away with it and has $11m to back him up for the last few months of his life. He's done with his family. Done with meth. Done with the Aryans. He is past the need to protect "his" formula. I see no reason for him to go back to tie up loose ends. That leads me to the flash forward scene where he makes the number out of bacon on his birthday, a re-enactment of a family tradition, suggests he continues to mourn his lost family. His family is gone from the house, likely into witness protection, and it's vandalized and left in ruins and Hank is dead. But there is still one person left: Jesse. The son he left in chains, a literal slave to the meth business, a fate worse than the death Walt blames Jesse for. A suicide run to free Jesse would be his last act in life. It's not redemption, it's alleviation of guilt, a selfish act. Like confessing infidelity to a priest but not your wife. I'm guessing it ends with Jesse killing Walt after Walt frees him as vengeance for Jane and Gale.
I dunno. I can't see that happening now Walt's got nothing to lose and still has a massive ego, he's going to go back and get revenge on the Aryans especially assuming that the blue meth starts appearing back on the streets again just as Chud said. Walt isn't really a walk away kind of guy.

Jesse killing Walt would be an interesting twist though.

Maybe he gave her to Emilio
why was showing the baby even necessary? seemed random

Not so random I guess, just more of the subtle brilliance of the show here.

And along those lines, a screen grab or a reflection from last night's episode that may be foreshadowing/spoiler:

The flashback that began last night’s episode was the last scene ever shot for the show.

I agree this could have been the best episode of the series.
Some recent muscle cars have a proximity sensor in the keys so that you could start it up without engaging it. On the UK Top Gear they knew this trick on a cross country drive and parked the guys charger or challenger in the road while he sat at a diner. I dunno if that was necessarily meant as a joke.

i love the unexpected, quick n' painless nature of his death. usually you'd expect that kind of thing at the end of an episode.

The scene is set up to where as Walt what enters the car, the viewer is convinced he is going to have to dig his keys out of the grave that once contained the evidence of his greatest victory, but now contains the evidence of his greatest loss after being outsmarted by everyone. But: "You two guys are just guys. Mr White… he is the devil. He is smarter than you. He is luckier than you. Whatever you think is supposed to happen, I’m telling you the reverse opposite of that is going to happen." He's so lucky, his car is within range of the key fob. He's so lucky he didn't have to get his hands dirty (literally) in Hank's death.

I can't see Walt going for the purpose of rescuing Jesse. Perhaps as an afterthought - like "okay, I'm here to kill the Aryans, get my money...bam boom pop...okay, done...now to burn the place and get outta here. oh, look, Jesse. Welll...I suppose I will spare him" - that sort of thing, not planned. Walt felt such deep pain when he realized Jesse had talked that it was as if his own son had turned him in. Sure, Walt ordered the hit on Jesse, but not before genuinely trying to give him a few different ways out.
With Hank, aside from being family, Walt wanted him to live and wanted to save his life because he was just doing what he was supposed to. Walt knew the whole time that having Hank that close was dangerous and that it could go down that path, and that is why he decided to cooperate and turn himself in. It was done. (And probably a little bit of a relief - no more running)

But why go back in the first place after successfully fleeing? Revenge seems unlikely because it's not like they will let him know where they are. I don't know if Walt ever knew since he only contacted them through Todd. He may be able to get to them through Lydia though, as Todd looked like he wanted to bang her. There is no reason to come back after so many months unless he loses the $11M somehow (or the rest of his family is killed).

Does anyone think Walt will live?

I mean, there is a lot of real money to be made off of this fake show down the line, if they wanted to do the whole movie thing. Of course, has any show really done that? Seems like every great show lately ends with talk of that. This show doesn't seem like the type, but one never knows.

The Aryans know where Walt's family lives (including Marie, and Jesse's confession tape at Hank's). They're not going to let Walt, who knows so much, just disappear. They'll come after his family to get to him. He has to protect them somehow. And he'll probably bump into Jesse along the way after he thought he had been dead.

And Jesse gets lucky again. Alive for the sole purpose of making better meth, so Todd can impress Lydia. I'd like to see Jesse kill Todd.

i think something happens to his family; in the flash-forwards we see the house is condemned and vandalized. Family has always been one of his motivations in practice even if he used it as an excuse to fuel his ego.

My prediction for the final episode...

Walt takes out the Nazis with the huge gun but doesn't realize Jesse is still at the compound. Jesse kills Walt.

Yes, but the vandalism could be from the public outcry over the publicity he receives when the cops break the story. An amber alert (@skitchp hates those, IIRC) went out with Walt's picture. There is no way the whole Heisenberg/BlueSky thing stays quiet after that and his 'confession' to Hank's death. It's unlikely that his family and M arie remain in their homes given the events that transpired in the last episode (Marie is aware of Jesse and the Aryans from Jesse's confession tape) and Waltseems rather calm when he gets back to his house in the flash forward. Even after being recognized by his neighbor. That doesn't seem like someone who is out for revenge over his children's deaths. Unless that scene is post-Aryan slaughter and now he's getting the ricin to finish off Lydia.

Man, I'm still reeling from that episode. I'm watching it again tonight with a couple people who haven't seen it yet. Should be fun.
