You take a slice of ham, spread cream cheese over it, then wrap around a whole pickle. Then you slice it into pieces that kind of look like sushi pieces.

It's really good. And easy. And when you call it redneck sushi, people think it's hilarious. I usually hear one shout across the room: "honey! Honey! Redneck sushi! It looks like a sushi roll but it's ham and pickles!"

People who aren't rednecks like it because it allows them to feel like they are slumming it without really doing so. It's a good appetizer but calling it that always turns it into a novelty

Buffalo chicken dip was a novelty 7 years ago. It is now a staple. Quit coming to a super bowl party and freaking out telling everyone that you brought it and how good it is. They sell it at the supermarket deli now.

my dad would make us fried bologna sandwiches. slice the meat so it cooks like an iron cross (I dunno why, that's just what he did) and put some nice yellow mustard on the bread and it's the best.
