my sophomore has been training for cross country at this crushed gravel path that's a 9.5 mile loop with some pretty steep inclines and declines. he makes me feel like such a fat f#&*.

You should train with him. Give him the impression you’re actually interested in his life.

Might try MAF training. My heart rate and breathing never improve.

7/30 - 8.5 miles @ 9:45 in 71 degrees
7/31 - 7.25 miles @ 9:32 in 80 degrees

Finished the month with 100.4 total miles.

Can explain these stats? Does 8.5 @ 9.45 mean an average of 9.45 mins per mile?

7.25 @ 9:04 in 67 degrees

Cooler temps and lower humidity take make a huge difference for me.

Total miles per month so far this year:

JAN - 73.3
FEB - 70.6
MAR - 48
APR - 50.3
MAY - 67.7
JUN - 92.3
JUL - 100.4

I took a full 7 - 10 days off from running in both March and May because of travel. I have no excuse for April.

At the end of the day, I find the elliptical machine has pretty much replaced my running because it's effective and less demanding.

I still run from the cops and my ex-wife, though.
