I love that solo! Very u2

I just....It's just.....I dunno, it's pure 80s. The accompanying video surely would have featured mike on a mountain somewhere in leather pants, and ed in eyeliner....and leather pants. It needed some fuzz or something.

I'm sure I'll be put off at first like a few of the early listeners, but then again I was first put off by Just Breathe, but it grew on me (to singalong to) and I enjoy it now live. As many has said it's possible to get a real take after one listen to the album in a setting that you're not used to (I'm actually in awe at how some of these folks have captured such descriptive notes, a big kudos to you).
Overall I'm thankful for the listening party reviews cause at first I kind of thought it'd ruin the first listening experience. Aside from the huge disappointment over the pointless inclusion on SBM, it sounds like we have some interesting, potentially classic new shit to listen to. I'd rather have an album with a couple of superb/ experimental/raw PJ songs and a few absolute duds rather than 12 mediocre/uninspired/recycled tracks.
Its the 80s thing thats getting me, otherwise i don't mind power ballad, i consider Black a power ballad. Theres enough of an edge to it to keep it from being complete 80s schlock, same with a lot of ten i guess, but with FoN they went all out, i'm hoping they don't do the same here but we'll see.
