Okay so I take it you haven't gotten to the point in the lesson about how Benford's Law is only a heuristic to detect fraud in random data samples and is broadly NOT applicable to election returns.

The argument, at least as I've seen it on Twitter, is that the vote totals from the 438 precincts on Milwaukee don't follow Benford's Law. This ignores things like the fact that that's not really a random data set, or that it's not a particularly large one, or that it doesn't really span different orders of magnitude. But again, there's tons of research on why Benford's Law doesn't accurately predict election fraud, though since Mac just learned about this concept today I suspect he has more reading to do.
