Outside of that, I am now listening to the Black Pumas - Capitol Cuts (Live From Capitol Studio A). This pretty outstanding, though probably a group that needs a new album since they’ve basically released 3 versions of the same album, once a year, for the past 3 years.

Also, how come in the last decade album reviewers refer to new albums as “their most honest yet.” Were they being dishonest before? Did they call out the artist for dishonesty?

playing devil's advocate, i interpret that reference to being more vulnerable and wearing things on their sleeve. to me it doesn't imply dishonesty as much as being more opaque or a closed book.

Bob Mould's Sunshine Rock is a great fucking album! I didn't know I needed strings in punky alternative rock but I love it!

I don't usually complain about drums being too high in the mix, but the bass drum on Incubus's "8" give me a headache and render the entire album unlistenable
