well yeah, you can’t hang out in restaurants or bars or gyms a bunch either. non essential stuff, but people are weak and must have nice things at all times.verb_to_trust wrote:It's all shit people do. That's not what's going on. Went to the bar last night, gym today and have reservations at a restaurant for tomorrow. Government says that's not where their data says it is spreading. It's social events like weddings, funeral, house parties and birthday celebrations primarily, followed by group aerobic exercise classes (spin classes).spike wrote:well yeah, you can’t hang out in restaurants or bars or gyms a bunch either. non essential stuff, but people are weak and must have nice things at all times.verb_to_trust wrote:It's all shit people do. Most places (other than bars and restaurants) have a mask must be worn policy, including the gym but if that's what it takes to keep things open so be it.

that's absolutely what's going on. it can spread anywhere of course, but short of a lockdown, it's about targeting places it spreads most which can also be reasonably avoided, to tamp down the spread.verb_to_trust wrote:That's not what's going on. Re: Anybody want a Corona?
Was watching some of the NBA draft last night and when they showed the players and families I am sure just about every team was thinking "I know this is a momentous occasion for you but there is a pandemic going on. Did you really need to invite so many people over to celebrate indoors? Damn, I wish we had drafted someone smarter."
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

The seven day positivity rate is already looking like it's declining, or at least plateauing. I'm sure JB will pat himself on the backfat but the increased mitigations just started. It's almost like this shit is going to do whatever it wants.spike wrote:that's absolutely what's going on. it can spread anywhere of course, but short of a lockdown, it's about targeting places it spreads most which can also be reasonably avoided, to tamp down the spread.verb_to_trust wrote:That's not what's going on. it's residual from the bears sucking after a hot start, and a little bit of big 10 football games being canceled the past few weeks. less opportunity for sports fans to congregate and breath all over each other.verb_to_trust wrote:The seven day positivity rate is already looking like it's declining, or at least plateauing. Re: Anybody want a Corona?
What if there really isn’t anything we can do and most of America & other parts of the world get really cold in the winter. It’s a disaster no matter what. So I guess we can either try by shutting down and whatever, or say fuck it and not lock down. I kind of fail to see how either is good economically. The former is better for saving life, so...

I don't know how one could fail to see how one is better than the other economically.

You’ve got to be fucking kidding, South Australia.
Letting people get sick and die is far better economically.
