Watching a film called moonwalkers
About Kubrick and the moonlanding being faked and drug deal gone wrong and Ron Perlman is in it...
Fun so far?

In Fear.
Weird but fun. Its a little thriller about a couple looking for a hotel and being fucked up by some random guy. Good cinematography, some cool shots...it was ok.

I was never a fan, but it's been a long time since I've seen it.

Sleeping With Other People.
Man, what a piece of garbage. Totally miscasted, boring, unfunny piece of shit. I dont know how this hollywood actors can do this shit over and over again and think they are actually acting.

Man, do I fucking hate Scarface. There are very few movies that I flat-out hate and Scarface is one of them.

None of the violence is earned. There is no real investment in any of the characters. It's just violence for the sake of violence. Also, the acting is horrible and the score is overbearing.

Hmm, well I certainly disagree with all of that.
I don't think "violence for the sake of violence" is true at all. It's necessary to establish the brutality of the drug trade and, by extension, Tony's psyche.
I feel plenty of investment in the characters. There's palpable tragedy in
- Spoiler: show
- what happens between Tony and Manny.
I find most of the acting to be exceptionally good. Pacino, especially, but also F. Murray Abraham and Paul Shenar.
The score is very '80s, but appropriately so. I think it's a classic score.

Is Pacino's performance in Scarface considered good? To me it is way over the top and hammy.

I mean "Say hello to my little friend" sounds like a line out of a parody movie.

I think he's great. He gets over-the-top because his character gets over-the-top. And there are plenty of great little understated moments interspersed throughout.
