The "source" seems like someone from JJ's team. I'm sure much of it is true, but I'm skeptical of some points.

I take nothing for granted anymore when it comes to what human beings are capable of or willing to do.

Anyone that believes Disney execs didn’t have both hands on the reins of this trilogy is sticking their head in the sands of Tatooine

Disney market the films. They don’t make them. Lucasfilm make them. Disney don’t get involved in th making past hiring directors and writers. Look at the mcu if in doubt. There is no ‘studio interference’

Look to suicide squad for an example of studio interference

I wish there was more literature on origin stuff in the SW universe. Canon, I mean

An aversion to nailing things down in order to have options.

Look to filoni in 2019 refusing to say whether jango was a mando or not. Backpedaling on previous ‘he’s not

From my reading of what that's asserting, the basic idea is that Disney is torpedoing the last film in this series (and jeopardizing hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue)...to spite JJ and make it more difficult for him to make a move to DC? That's utterly absurd. Star Wars is one of their flagship franchises; they're going to want every dollar they can get out of ROS.

ROTS approaching Phantom Menace and Rogue One in the all time box office (third when it passes those). Looks like it will eventually end up closing in on The Last Jedi. It will be number one in its first three weeks domestically after this weekend, same as The Last Jedi managed. TFA topped for four weeks.

Exactly.

This movie was a lock for all-time box office numbers years ago. There was no “risk” when it came to the money.
