Of course Tanaka was fantastic tonight. I had finally benched him.

Huh. I had never heard of that either, but it makes sense.

He's been baffling this year. I usually watch my fantasy pitchers on MLB.TV, So I've watched most of his starts. He was SO BAD last week. Last night? he set a career high in strikeouts and swings and misses. His forkball and slider were nasty. Glad I didn't pull the plug on him yet, now that Grienke finally had a bad start.

and yeah, go fuck yourself :D

Yeah.

I really wish someone would ask Rickey Henderson his views on sliding head first, I bet that would be a good sound bite.

Did you have him back in your lineup last night? :|
Tanaka and Machado are KILLING ME
and last night was the ultimate, Machado was the only guy Tanaka could get out.

Machado is now 0-18 with 10 K's over his last 4 games, .205 overall

Hunter Strickland got off way light.

He should have lost 2 months.

Throwing at batters is always stupid, but at least you can kind of see the reasoning when a guy feels like he's standing up for a teammate or some other crap like that.

Strickland hit Harper - on purpose - because he was upset that he hit a couple HR off him.

What a shithead.

Harper should have been given a pat on the back for charging the mound in that situation. And someone should give Strickland a few swift kicks to the nuts. #Justice.

I also thought of chud when I saw that line last night.

Machado is hitting well enough to be the starting left fielder in Boston!

the worst part is that if harper had never charged the mound, strickland would never have been suspended. it took a brawl to do it.

i still can't figure out for the life of me how baseball, among virtually every sport i can think of, tolerates players leaving the bench (and bullpens) to participate in a fight without any repercussions.

Yep, had him benched all day then decided to start him at the last minute.

Part of me thinks it has to do with the racial makeup of the player base--in a league that's still over 60% white, you don't get the common bad (and racially charged) press of players being "thugs" when they go onto the field of play to fight or even argue. The NBA and NFL have extremely strict rules in place to primarily avoid situations like that.
