Well, don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but the song is kinda stuck in my head. Appears to be growing on me.

Especially the beginning and first verse. And the breakdown bridge thing...

I was agreeing. It's not an album standard song, and neither is the recording style.

I have a random playlist on and Hitchiker has just come on...I would say this is about that standard.

Hitchhiker is a fantastic song though.

Such a frustrating song. The studio version is almost unlistenable to me, but the live version has potential. Downtuning so that Ed can bark the verses rather than screech is a smart decision. And releasing it in the context of the gun protests gives it some relevance. But the lame chorus sucks the air out of the song. And like Strat said, after the first chorus there isn't any more development in the lyrics or music, so the song is basically over.

20 years ago the band would have road tested this song a few times and maybe cleaned it up before recording it. 2018 PJ is married to this version forever. Missed opportunity.

Agreed. The live version is much better than the studio version.
Mostly because of the awesome basslines by Jeff.

I've said it before and Ill say it again. This band needs a new powerstruggle, Jeff needs to be the new leader......

He was the only one showing growth in writing on LB. And he's the only one making this new song somewhere interesting.

Hated the song on Day 1. Grew on me. Love it now. Par for the course for every PJ single ever.

I was cruising on the highway over the weekend when it came on shuffle. That's when it hit me.
