the rock station here in portland said Sirens will play thursday during the drive-time show today (the last day of pearl jam week). i've heard MYM so many times this week, it was great.

So Sirens? interesting..im expecting a lot of hatred, i dont know why.
But im really happy with Stip`s words about this songs that leaked today, im surprised to read that LB is a really strong track.
do you like soaring, anthematic kind of stuff? of all these songs l-bolt might also have the most elements that can easily turn someone off.
i love those..in fact, its something BS doesnt do well, those type of songs PJ knows how to write perfectly.
I actually like the live version, so im expecting a good song, i just hope its really really good.
it is my favorite of the new tracks for that reason. The guitars are toned down from the live version, which is too bad, but the stuff that replaces just fills the air in a pretty cathartic way
It is anthematic but better than Amongst The Waves, for example, as it builds and pays off at the end. Could be longer...

There is also the chance I'll oversell this one, so heads up

I don't know if I want to live in a world where I can't trust you to provide measured assessments of modern day Pearl Jam.
I'm gonna need some time to recover from this...

v. you can listen to any soundcheck recordings of new songs (at the moment this list contains either Infallible or Sirens).

I'm staying strong
Apparently the sound quality is supposedly shitty....which I have no time for these days
And from what I've read thus far....nobody has declared any of these songs to be essential listening.
The overall vibe I get from the leak reviews is that the songs are kind of okay...so that helps.

I'm still technically in by the definition above. Not easy of course, but something in Stip's review struck, and that was that once you've heard the 4 (really 3) new songs leaked today, assuming you've heard Future Days, Lightning Bolt and Mind Your Manners, and heard the uke version of Sleeping By Myself, there's not much left to hear on the album, especially since Sirens appears to be coming next week. I mean, once it's over, we're maybe looking at a real long time before we hear something new. So do I treasure this time we have to look forward to the unknown, or do I dive in, listen to these 4 tracks, then get Sirens, and just deal with the fact that there'll only be 4 or 5 new songs for me in October?

Stip's review convinced me more than ever to hold out and wait. The meat of this album has still not been revealed: My Father's Son, Infallible, Pendulum, Yellow Moon and Sirens. The 4 songs that were leaked are described as the linking tracks, or for some even filler tracks, to get to the darker and moodier pieces. Those that have listened and been disappointed are really selling themselves short. These aren't meant to be the anchor tracks of the album.

I haven't, but now I feel left out and wonder if I should.
I've never given it though. I feel like I should wait for something really important to happen before I use it.

Good choice, man. Don't make the same mistake I did, and squander it.

Resist the urges, men. Don't let this evil temptress draw you over to the dark side.
