Fuck the internet, it fucking sucks. It may be a huge step forward in connecting humans on a technological scale, but it's been a massive step backwards for sexism, racism, and is just plain rampant idiocy.

The pandemic of Idiocy is spreading. Repent now.

I don't think it is a "step backwards" for those things- they existed anyways. It's just a more public setting for the views to be seen.

and frankly, I'd rather the problems be visible than hiding- you can't solve a problem you don't know you have.

Far be it from me to defend fucking 4chan, and this is definitely something I wouldn't put past them ("share your rape stories!", "here are my ex girlfriend's nudes and contact info, let's destroy her life", "this bitch has a feminist blog, let's harass her"-- these kinds of threads are posted daily on /b/. Fuck daily, they're posted hourly)... but it appears this particular threat was a hoax.

Interesting... it appears to be a moderate, reasonable approach to begin to educate the edges of the gender spectrum in how to approach equality. Alas, this seems to contradict the message our modern pop culture is spreading, which appears to advocate for women to compete sexually for the attention of the aggressive, dominant male... what amounts to a regression for both traditional society and "legacy" feminism.

The follow up was that it wasn't 4chan, it was some sort of group trying to discredit 4chan. You'd think they wouldn't need any help with that.

Is this safer for the girl than hormones or just more effective at preventing pregnancy?

I think mainly the latter, but perhaps the former could also be true.
