I think he was in High School Musical or something. Can't be sure - can't be bothered doing a Google search either

I could go the rest of my life without seeing that pic, but somehow I know I won't.

you'll find, upon reflection, that the pic is a literalization of the themes of modern-day RM: glassy-eyed concession, blind adherence to a search for the sublime, and being badly dressed

Zac Efron is a box office powerhouse.

Zac... Zac effron... His first name sounds like lasers and his surname sounds like the machine that makes them.

Of course he's gonna be in this.

Ironically, this news actually gives me a little bit of hope, because it is exactly not the casting decision I would expect them to make if their primary concern was just to play it safe. By the measure of "I don't give a shit about nostalgia," Zac Efron's involvement would be substantially less tragic than Harrison Ford's.

Easy chewie... Easy... You calm down there

They can't make this without Ford. And nobody's happier than his accountant. And me.

But, yeah. I'd rather Effeon than some greenhorn who reall can't act.
His new movie I haven't seen but at least he's been in a few and knows what to expect.
No rabbit in the headlights.

To that, they should avoid big name actors. Getting tied up to legendary franchises is among the worst career moves ever.
Other than green street I never saw Elijah wood ever again other than twitter.
And Sarah Michelle geller? Who?

I agree, dime. Most of the actors were very much unknown when the original Star Wars came out. I'd rather they did that again and find good, suitable, unknown actors again rather than focusing on getting any big name actors in some vague attempt to boost the movie. I mean, fuck, this is Star Wars - it doesn't need any big name actors to push it.

That's one of the things that annoyed me about the prequel trilogy, they got too many unsuited big name actors that didn't really have a passion for their characters, nor character development.

Surely they'd save a buttload on the actors wages, and can spend it on other areas.

But there was never a chance of character development as they were handed each days script on the day. None of them knew how the story would unfold and it wasn't shot in sequence either. It was a mess.

Guys, its not like Zac Efron is a HUGE star that you should be concerned about like Ewen McGregor was. He's known, but he's hardly a superstar.

I just read, the chubby fella with the glasses, in wolf of wall st, was only paid $60,000 for the role. But he wanted to be in it. Cos it was Scorsese presumably. And he did ok.

Any established actor wanting to attach themselves to Star Wars should call carrie fisher or mark Hamill.

Imagine everyday of your life was comicon. But you couldn't leave.

Jesus Christ.

I mean Shia LaShia delivered lines like "what are you, 80?" With more commitment and believability than anything Harry offered in Indy. Maybe they're just dragging his ass out of "please retire" to make another mediocre talent look good by comparison.

I dunno McP.
That guys from the Bale school of acting. Aka, if I shout and fingerpoint in their face, while shouting, I look like I am a great actor.

It doesn't work.

Last guy tried it was DiCaprio but he is a great actor. And doesn't need the finger (always)

It was him. He's the one who just shat himself. My Russian powers of boy I don't even remember tell me it was definitely, definitely him.

Brad Pitt didn't start this, this thing where he's always chewing something in every scene. It's ok to have a totem.

Range tho. Haven't these clowns ever heard of range?

oh, you should watch wilfred, dime. elijah wood isn't the best thing about it, but he's a solid second banana in a buddy comedy.
