I am looking forward to going to Cooperstown in ‘25 when Ichiro is inducted

That crowd is going to be INSANE. All of Japan will be there.

I am saving my Cooperstown trip for Felix Hernandez.

I am not calling any of these HOF nods into question, just pointing out what feels to me like a bizarre stat.

Adrian Beltre - 21 seasons but only 4x all star

Todd Helton - 17 seasons but only 5x all star

Joe Mauer - 15 seasons but only 6x all star

53 total seasons, but only 15 total all star selections. WTF happened the other 72% of their seasons?

I'm a little surprised to see Joe Mauer get in on the first ballot, but I'm happy for the guy.

Also happy for Todd Helton. The prohibition on Colorado guys making it into the HoF was a silly exercise

bammer, you're smarter than this. using all-star appearances/voting as a criterion for anything is worthless. hell, derek jeter made the all-star game his last year in the league and the guy had a -.7 WAR and could barely move.

Are you talking about hall of famer Derek Jeter or a different Derek Jeter?

Anyway, Beltre’s 19% all star clip may well be a HOF low? I haven’t looked into it.

I’m just making an observation about a statistic, player. Remember when I didn’t call any of these nods into question.

At the end of the day, the Hall may not consider RM's position(s) on who is "in" or "out."
