IMO perhaps Dave should do something else for a while. Make one more TCV record before John Paul Jones is too old. And then in a year or two reboot the Foo's with Josh Freese as a permanent replacement. Josh Freese is a great great fit. He's about their age, he's experienced (can deal with the pressure) and he's an amazing drummer.

This sounds like a psy-op to get Foos Fighters to The Eagles' levels of corny shittery. It's not a bad call -- they're very nearly there. If nothing else, it'd be hilarious.

Fun fact: Both Violet Grohl and Shane Hawkins are 16 years old and completely crushed it.

Dave wrote 5 albums since Taylor’s death. He’s just waiting for the public relations firm to complete their research and confirm the best date to start releasing them so he can capitalize on the Foo’s situation. It’s a delicate line, he’s hired the best people.

yeah, they were awesome...i was surprised with both of them. Violet Grohl seemed so relaxed and effortless i was shocked. And she sang Last Goodbye!

Lolwut
it's true, i want to be david bowie
there's gonna be a super group of rock star kids in like 5-10 years w/ all of our favorite bands' kids. also, glad everyone is on board w/ josh frees, it makes too much sense. i'd rather grohl get behind the kit w/ TCV/QOTSA, but that's not happening.

Weird, failed artist projection. Maybe he likes drumming?

Someone tweet Shane and let him know that Trag from RM gives him permission to bang the skins once the working week has come to a close.

Honestly speaking, and maybe it’s a reflection on my cynicism but I felt a little uncomfortable with this tribute for a while.
My initial feeling was it might be ego driven but watching the show changed my mind. Some lovely contributions by a host of obvious and less obvious folk.
On a personal note, Taylor was exactly as he looked when in his company. Gorgeous, happy, starry eyed and decent.
Poor old Dave losing his Mom in this timeframe. Don’t know if they will carry on, my feeling is they’re done. The band to a man looked totally lost at the start of the day.
