I’ve been leaning a Baskets rewatch next, but this one has been in the back of my mind. As has Eastbound and Down if I finally spring for Max.
Aww man, I never finished Baskets.

I should…

Parks is very comforting though.
Parks is the best
Indeed on both counts.

Parks is the ultimate comfort show.

That's fair.

It's Always sunny is mainly mine in the context of being comfortable having it on a lot, not the content of course. I think it just works better as background noise. Same for the Office. For whatever reason when I watch Parks I want a real, focused viewing.

Interesting that we're the opposite on this. I'm not sure I can explain why it's that way for me, but I couldn't tell you how many times i've had some of the seasons playing in the background. I almost got to the point where I was tired of it, but nah.

New season tomorrow!

For real. It's nowhere near the best of the earlier seasons, but i'm still committed. Last season was a step up from the previous few though.

A couple weak stretches but overall excellent. Impeccable acting throughout

Thanks fellas. One quick follow up... Did either of you watch it in real time as it aired?

I watched the whole show. Some in real time, some binged. Think it repeated stuff too much in later seasons, but it had some great moments, not only in season one.

I watched in real time. The show had issues in later seasons as it tried to course-correct after some accusations of overindulging in the islam/terrorism connection and the collapse of TV writing in general following the 2016 election, but it's able to recover and close really strong with tense plotting and many excellent action sequences along the way. I would recommend if you liked The Americans(which was a superior show) or are fans of Mandy Patinkin and F. Murray Abraham who chew up every scene they are in.
