Especially as Ed wrote it with Josh, rather than an actual band member, it feels like something that should’ve been held over for a future solo record (or standalone single).darthvedder81 wrote:Something Special is a fine song. The band plays great on it and it's heartfelt—just doesn't belong on this album. It's very odd.

• Setting Sun is wonderful. Definitely a Stone lick/riff driving this. It's a beautiful way to end the album.
Awesome maybe it will be improvement over the record storebluestate wrote:Have a recording that's definitely louder than the original, not yet sure if it's clearer...
spent a few seconds putting some additional EQ and mastering plugins on it just to piss off the hater(s)
let me check itbluestate wrote:YesVinylGuy wrote:From the theatre experience?
I agree. I liked it fine on it's own but it really works well re-sets things for the close of the album.stip wrote:running seems to work much better as a cool down after 3 long anthems then as a stand alone single
It was! Because the sound quality of the songs after was so horrible, I started questioning if maybe that had been unintentional. There was no surround sound at my showing. Could the warbled intro be an effect of the theatre syphoning a Dolby mix through screen speakers only?bluestate wrote:For everyone who was there... was Jeff's intro super loaded in reverb for you too? That part was pretty weird
I think it was the effect of a non-Atmos recording being played through all directional/panned speakers at equal volumes.. that's not how Atmost mixes are inteneded, so it ended up as a total clusterfuckKanta wrote:It was! Hm. Mine was only played through the screen, not through the surrounding speakers, so I figured it might be the other way around. But there was definitely something very wrong.bluestate wrote:I think it was the effect of a non-Atmos recording being played through all directional/panned speakers at equal volumes.. that's not how Atmost mixes are inteneded, so it ended up as a total clusterfuckKanta wrote:It was! Status on mine hasn't changed since April 3rd - 'Shipment Ready for UPS'Monkey_Driven wrote:Has anyone's 10C order (vinyl or CD) shipped yet? Mine is still showing as the label being created but no actual shipment.
I thought it definitely sounded intentional, Jeff talked something about going down another dimension or something like that, didn't he? Just think it was a weird, experimental tongue in cheek way of introducing the recordKanta wrote:Hm. I don't mean that the lyrics are bad. They are melancholy and mournful, and they made me legitimately feel bad for Eddie if these are the emotions he's feeling.tragabigzanda wrote:My buddy said the same. This. It was weird. I’m accustomed to happy Ed and angry Ed. But this was something very different.zeb wrote:I don't mean that the lyrics are bad. Yes!!!! What was that? I was worried the sound system in my theater was fucked but it was just him. Weird.bluestate wrote:For everyone who was there... was Jeff's intro super loaded in reverb for you too? That part was pretty weird
