Heavy rains all week so doubt ill get any running in which frustrates me because i really wanted to progress and make this habit

I know you’re already in shape from skiing and whatever else, but im super impressed that you can go out and run at that pace. But I’m jealous and hate everything.
My legs were jello for a couple days after. i really do not have those running muscles right now. My lungs have felt amazing though at lower elevation!
I dont think i could maintain that pace for more than 4 miles so....
but some day!
Teach me your lungs

Not enough. Working on that. I haven’t ran as much this year and it’s haunting me

I tend to believe my high intensity interval training has served my lungs well, in addition to living at high altitude the past 16 years. Growing up a hockey player, much of our training was HIIT too so ive just always enjoyed that. Im no machine by any means though, fat as hell.
You'll be happy to know my pace decreased to 9:12 today on a 4 mile run. 78% goddamn humidity! Thats insantity!

lol well you did go 1.5 miles further. But yeah humidity is killer. I hate running on a treadmill enough to endure it though

Did 2 miles of intervals on the treadmill. It felt great, which means I didn't challenge myself enough. I did increase the speed each time, but my rests were basically a crawl.

Minor shin splits and feet aches but still doing my runs! Went 2.9 yesterday around my favorite Minneapolis Lake 8:47 pace.

Very nice. You’ll be running a half marathon at that pace by September

I've gotta start running again. I've been out of the habit for over a year. I was consistently able to hit a sub-30 5k so I set a new goal of doing a 10k in under an hour and got it on my first (maybe second) attempt. Kind of took the wind out of my sails because I didn't know where to go next. I don't think I can go faster and I don't want to go farther. But now I'm just kind of easily winded again
I'll go out in the morning if it's not too humid or rainy

NYC Pride Race this morning in Central Park. Much better than my previous two races. 8:27 pace, quick is 11 seconds better than my official NYRR pace.
Happy Pride, y'all!

Still keeping at the runs, probably 3 times a week. Dont feel like im getting any better yet but its also been in the midst of the holiday, binging, guests, and just a wild few months.
Finally committing to losing weight though because ive gained quite a bit over the last 6 months with some illness and the chaos of moving/staring over in life again.
Even joined a gym. Yesterday ran about 3 miles at around 9:12 pace, then went straight to the gym to lift.
Time to get serious, team.
