I have no problem with "pie" but I have a friend who calls pizza "za" and it really irks me.

Except that it's actually called a pizza pie.

You can make your cake comp if you want but pie is the more accurate one. Maybe you also so a piece of pie instead of slice. Maybe you also say piece of pizza. I don't know. But getting bent out of shape about calling a kind of pie "pie" feels absurd to me.
