It didn't though. He drank and survived the water of life. That was his transformation.

I’d walk around like I had a massive set of balls if I ticked the boxes of a prophecy, too

I'm so tried of "sleepy" Tim criticism. It's lazy and inaccurate. And if you didn't think the two leads have chemistry? Well, fine, I guess art is subjective, but I don't get that at all.

(Please don't quote that.)

They definitely were sweet on each other; I don’t see any other read on their interactions

I don’t recall anyone else referring to him as sleepy, so now you’re just calling my ostensibly original ideas lazy
Calling him sleepy is VinylGuy's thing!

“Sweet on each other,” yeah maybe. But it doesn’t feel like a passionate attraction full of conflicted tension. It feels like a dopey high schooler who has a crush on the college girl.
His sudden thrust into the battle for his own survival gets in the way of letting himself be too smitten with her. By the time he’s drinking the water of life, Muad’Dib has way more than passion to worry about. And i thought there was obvious conflict between them, especially in Zendaya’s portrayal

I mean, they ARE dopey teenagers.
Also, Paul was literally trained before birth to lead and be a badass; between house Atriedes and the Bene Gesserit it was always the path laid before him. Maybe not this exact path, but to be a leader of people at least

Honestly I think she acts circles around him in this
I am serious about my criticism!
Good Lord! I would barely call that acting!

Trag, I’m not sure if you’ve read the books, but i highly recommend not watching the third movie when it comes out. You’ll hate the pacing of the story
