I can't blame Carter there.

First, he's not even a typical special teams guy, so he's out there in a tough situation really because of injuries. Second, there was another Bronco right next to him, so I don't think they were out of position. That's all on the returner; he has to be letting the guys in front of him know what he's doing and where the ball is--it's not very easy to downfield block and keep track of a ball above you and a guy behind you.

Welker was/is the "safe" punt guy. He was in there to make sure that didn't happen. He's gotta run up to the 15 and make that catch. At the very least he has to make the call before he did. I still love Wes, but it's on him.

You're right.

Welker, of course, isn't 100% innocent, but I still think Carter put himself in an bad situation.

On another note, Brandon Browner's probably feeling real stupid right now for not fighting his earlier PED suspension like Richard Sherman did.

I agree with the Top Five here, but it's interesting to see that Carolina is ranked below NE (despite its win over NE), while NE is ranked below the Saints and Broncos, two teams NE beat.

If I remember correctly from what I read, the Saturday games were axed because it was just too difficult to get people to watch games during the holidays when they're usually at parties with friends and family. The current thinking is that Thursday games are going to provide better ratings. If they're right, then as much as many of us dislike those games, they aren't going away.
