The Optigan was an instrument from the 70s that was a lot like a Mellotron in that it uses pre-recorded loops as the sound source, but with optigan you could expand your library by purchasing optical discs (basically very flimsy LPs) which could be inserted at will. Unlike the mellotron, it rarely sounded cool, usually sounded more like a kid’s toy.
My best hunch is that the first few bars from Inside Job are from an optigan.

Did the original listing say this was 45rpm? It is. It sounds great.
Also, at least 13 pictures that aren't on the original vinyl. Haven't compared them all to the CD liner notes.
