i'm only familiar with a handful of her stuff, and i've liked what i've heard from what i remember

but i've heard teenage talk on the radio a few times over the last week and it's owning me

Nope. Common misconception, actually (that might be the most pretentious thing I've ever written).

Lena Dunham and Annie are friends. Lena asked if she had anything they could use for Girls. Annie busted out a demo from the St. Vincent sessions and it was Teenage Talk. But Annie wrote the song while in Austin. It's autobiographical, about growing up in Dallas, getting drunk and stealing the parents car.

Oh, nice. Those were quite fruitful sessions.

I hope she plays more guitar on the next one. I want a really badass heavy album.

She's talked for a long time about doing more of a metal album. I have no idea if that's what's next, but I bet she'll do one eventually.
