I agree and you gave me an  - It's time for a "Reaviewmirror", best of album for Avocado through Dark Matter. Do we already have a thread for that?
Is that best of called PRAMG Hits?

Riot Act hasn't gotten the Atmos treatment. Interesting. If this thing could be mixed to perfect the "sitting in the room" feeling, I might never stop listening.

My thoughts as well.

The Atmos mixes of Off He Goes and Around the Bend really have that "sitting in the room" feel and made me think of how great Riot Act could be (if done well)

I will never understand leaving Down off this album.

I think you could just possibly swap Down in for Get Right, but I love the guitar solo in Get Right equally to the solo in Down so I'd hate to lose that one. Or, which would be my preference, just put Down in after I Am Mine and make a great album that gets maligned for being too long even longer.

Down feels too uptempo and happy for this album.

its a great song but the feel of Riot Act changes with its inclusion. Down and All or None are tough to process together

You're not wrong, and yet the same fella wrote both in the same time period.

What if Down opened the record and Can't Keep moved to the closer spot or penultimate spot? It'd turn Riot Act into the perfect map of how Pearl Jam likely felt in the transition from the Obama years to the Trump years. All high hopes followed by near incapacitating despair.

you can hold both experiences in your head at once, but it would feel like a schizophrenic record (I think). The mood would suffer a bit. I mean I'd love Undone as well, arguably the best song from the whole session.

If I was going to make a 4 song EP with my favorites from that era it would be Can't Keep, Down, Undone, I Am Mine - and it would be an optimistic light in the darkness. But this works but basically cutting the rest of Riot Act

Nevermind the fact that Riot Act came out in 2002

Fine, then make it a map of how they felt going from the Nader campaign with hopes of a left-leaning Gore presidency straight into the Bush years and a war.

I guess the main thesis is that the right sequence could make Riot Act a journey into darkness and cast All Or None in a completely different light.

An argument could be made Bush does not win w out PJ. That might have required some processing.

Arc is as good as it gets. I would be sad to think otherwise.

One of my favorite PJ records. Undone, Down and Otherside are also all excellent. And let's not forget 4/20/02.
And how knows what's still in the vault. With Binaural en RA there seems to be so much output.

PJ never got any closer to a double record than with Riot Act. Imagine adding those 4 tracks and splitting it over 2 albums...PJ's Stadium Arcadium, for what's it worth.

Maybe Gigaton is the only other one where they could have pulled that off..

Well yeah, but at the same time they are do different im glad these two are apart.

Also, with RA seems they tried again to actually have an album that made some kind of splash, similar to what they did with Yield i guess. I Am Mine was a great first single but of course PJ being PJ they didnt really pushed the album that much, which is a shame because this one could have had some legs commercially.
