The amount of people on my Facebook feed discussing the Patriots going undefeated is too damn high.

This game was pure Patriots porn: exciting for about two minutes, then just a slog to get through the rest, because you knew the outcome. I had it on in the background for 95% of the time.

Did anyone else notice that NBC used a pie chart to represent the % of snaps each Eagles running back plays? It ended up adding up to like 111% because, obviously, more than one running back can be in on a single play...so why the fuck did they use a pie chart?

The injuries are piling up - they are too thin at o-line and d-backs. Lewis out hurts too, but I'm always more worried about the defense vs. offense.

I know part of it is the Lions awfulness, but I find the NFL is not very compelling this season for some reason.

I think it's also because there are something like 12-16 teams in the league that are just bad--the poor records league-wide certainly are a result of there being three undefeated teams after Week 9, but I really do believe that there are a lot of garbage clubs out there (no offense, Skitch).

12-16 is actually too low of an estimate

it's probably closer to 16-20 that are bad

Redskins
Giants
Eagles
Cowboys
Dolphins
Bills
Saints
Bucs
Colts
Titans
Texans
Jaguars
Lions
Bears
Browns
Ravens
49ers
Rams
Raiders
Chiefs
Chargers

I count 21. And yes, one or two of those might get a wild card, but don't kid yourself even if you are a fan of a team on that least. You know nothing good is happening this year.

I'd probably disagree with the Rams. Their D is top-notch and Gurley is a stud. If they can get some better play out of Foles, they could be dangerous.

I guess this is how I'd do tiers of teams this year. Top 3 teams have to be there because of their records; I think we can all agree that the teams in "Good" are good (maybe even great), even if they have holes. Then things get dicey...I think one if not both of the teams in "Are We Sure They're Good?" could be heading for a second-half collapse. The teams in "Feisty" have a chance to win every week...but they also could lose every week. The teams in "Hard to Read" could all make the playoffs, potentially, and there's probably at least two division winners in there--but I don't trust any of them. Then we get to the trash, which I truly believe are the teams that have already been eliminated from playoff contention.
Spoiler: show
Top Tier (3)
Patriots
Bengels
Panthers

Good (3)
Packers
Broncos
Cardinals

Are We Sure They're Good? (2)
Falcons
Vikings

"Feisty" (5)
Jets
Raiders
Eagles
Saints
Rams

Hard to Read (5)
Bills
Steelers
Seahawks
Colts
Giants

Just Awful, Really, Really Awful (14)
Dolphins
Ravens
Browns
Texans
Jaguars
Titans
Chiefs
Chargers
Cowboys
Washington
Bears
Lions
Bucs
Niners

Cards and Broncos are better than the Bengals and Panthers

And I'd still probably take the Packers over the Panthers.

Cam's poor passing is gonna catch up to Carolina eventually.
