Checking again early next week!
Yeah man. Check the completely arbitrary numbers! The CDC estimates we could be approaching 100 million infections but I guess it's only for realz if it's put up on the daily scoreboard.
Can I use the 3,100 deaths as justification for action, or is that too arbitrary as well?

I literally have no idea what Verb is arguing any more (if I ever did), he just seems to like to tell us we're all wrong, no matter what we are talking about.

I'd prefer if you used the 7 day average.

The number of deaths obviously matters, but as spike said above, it's all about hospital capacity. And that's starting to get a bit scary.

We've been completely incapable to disconnecting those three numbers. Until we do, all the numbers matter.
Cases spike --> Hospitalizations spike --> Deaths spike

Seems like we only need the last two though.

You wouldn't like a warning that your hospitals are about to get slammed?

It doesn't take a metric ton of PCR tests to figure that out though

i think i get what you're getting at... that it's so out of control in america that cases are almost meaningless at this juncture. that number will become more important once/if we can get things under control, however. like it is in nations like NZ or AU, where they've nearly gotten rid of it.

Honestly, just look at the poop numbers to see how it's spreading in the community.

My grandma and her husband have it. They're coughing and feverish. Hope they pull through.
